It’s Friday night and everyone has assembled at Purple Bar in Alfredton for the speed dating session that is held there once per month by David and Nina Fisher.
(Editor’s note: David and Nina actually got divorced six months after they married, but let’s not let that get in the way of a good business story)
There’s some nervous laughter. Trust Lucas to be the smartarse.
A murmurmed “No” echoes through the room.
Immediately the din of many voices speaking at once erupts.
Mimi feels slightly claustrophobic as she greets the guy sitting opposite her with what she hopes is a warm smile. After all, it’s not his fault. Plenty of time to kill Lily later.

Lily was right in her element, which was good, given she was the one who’d dragged them all here.

Everyone seems to get up at once to start moving around and go to refill their drinks, but our girls – apart from Lily – are still sitting there, shell-shocked.
